In 1999 Ciarán became the first person to complete the UCLA film scoring course within a year, turned down scholarships for doctorates in composition at both NYU and Florida State University and instead chose to stay in Los Angeles and write film scores. The very first project he was fortunate to be asked to work on was Michael Mann’s The Insider which he orchestrated and the resulting score received a Golden Globe Nomination. Since finishing his year of academic training in 2000, Ciarán has stayed busy working as a composer and music producer in Los Angeles California.
